Pricing & how Booxt works
Booxt is an SMS-based AI assistant that writes contractor estimates, collects deposits, and books appointments — all by text. $99/month flat for contractors. Here are the questions people ask most.
What is Booxt and how does it work?
Booxt is an SMS-based AI assistant for contractors. You text your job notes from the truck and the AI drafts a priced estimate, collects the deposit, and dispatches your crew — all by text, managed from your phone. It also books appointments for service businesses like salons and barbershops.
How much does Booxt cost?
Booxt is $99/month flat for contractors, with the first week free. Every feature is included — estimates, invoicing, deposit collection, crew and sub dispatch, unlimited texts, unlimited crew members — and Booxt never takes a percentage of your sales, bookings, or deposits. (Run an appointment business — salon, barbershop, cleaning? Booxt still takes on a limited number; apply at booxt.io/apply.)
Can Booxt write construction estimates by text?
Yes. A contractor texts their job-site notes — for example, "driveway, 1,200 sq ft, mill and repave, demo subbed $1,800" — and Booxt builds a priced, phase-by-phase estimate using the contractor’s own numbers (profit per day, markup, unit prices). The contractor reviews and approves it before anything goes to the customer.
Can I draw plans in Booxt?
Yes — layout sketches, to scale. Sketch is graph paper in real feet and inches: drag walls and deck rims, and it counts the lumber live — studs at 12/16/24" on center, joists, plates, deck boards — with the math shown. One tap prices the drawing from your own rate book into a draft estimate, with a clean customer view under your logo. They’re layout sketches, not engineered or permit plans. It’s included in the flat $99 — drawing-and-takeoff apps like ArcSite charge $99–129 per user per month for this alone (as of July 2026).
How does Booxt collect deposits?
Booxt sends the customer a clean estimate link where they pay a deposit by card. Payments go directly to the contractor’s own Stripe account — 100% lands with the contractor and Booxt takes no cut. The owner gets a text the moment a deposit is paid. Final balances can be paid by card or bank transfer (ACH) — bank transfers take 3–5 business days to settle and carry much lower processing fees.
Does Booxt work with QuickBooks?
Yes — connect QuickBooks once and your invoices sync automatically every hour: one-way, straight into QuickBooks Online. A payment posts when the invoice is paid in full — partial payments and deposits wait for the balance, on purpose, so your books never carry a half-recorded job. Prefer files? One-click export works too (Reports → Export for QuickBooks), and your bookkeeper gets a clean payments register for bank matching.
Does Booxt track job costs?
Yes. When the job wraps, text what it actually took — "took 2 days, materials came to $2,610" — and Booxt puts the real costs on the job and shows your margin against the estimate. Your rate book learns from those actuals, so the next estimate is priced from what jobs really cost, not what you hoped.
Can Booxt put customers on a monthly maintenance plan?
Yes. Tell your assistant the plan — the service, how often, and the monthly price — and Booxt sends the customer a signup link. They enter a card once and the plan bills automatically every month, straight to your own Stripe. Good for mowing, pool service, HVAC maintenance, or any recurring work.
Does Booxt dispatch crew and subcontractors?
Yes. The contractor texts something like "send Joe and Mike to 142 Oak St Monday 7am," and each crew member gets their schedule, address, and scope by text. For subcontractors, when a job is approved Booxt texts the subs the tentative timing, asks if they’re available, and reports back who’s locked in.
What’s the difference between Booxt and Jobber, Booksy, or Calendly?
Booxt is text-first: there’s no app or portal your customers have to learn — they just text. Booking tools like Booksy and Calendly center on a calendar; field-service tools like Jobber center on a desktop dashboard. Booxt runs the whole flow — booking or estimate, deposit, reminders, dispatch — through SMS, at a flat price with no per-booking cut.
Do my customers need to download an app?
No. Customers interact with Booxt entirely by text message, plus a simple web link to view an estimate or pay a deposit. There’s nothing for them to download, sign up for, or log into.
How long does setup take?
About five minutes. After signing up you text your new assistant "Hi," and it walks you through setup right in the chat — your business name, services or trade, hours, and (for contractors) your usual pricing and go-to subs. Then it’s ready to take customers.
What trades and businesses does Booxt work for?
On the booking side: barbershops, salons, nail and lash studios, cleaners, dog groomers, spas, med spas, and tattoo studios. On the construction side: asphalt and paving, concrete, landscaping, remodeling, roofing, decks, excavation, and general contracting — any contractor who quotes jobs and collects deposits.
